We are honored that the Bike Workshop has been nominated for the Mary Catherine Strobel Award, an annual award given by Hands on Nashville recognizing local volunteer efforts.
The winner is announced on April 21, but regardless of who wins, we greatly appreciate the recognition that the Workshop is receiving. Not that we need motivation to keep up the good work, but a pat on the back is always sweet.
Below is a video by Jubilee Beer, an awesome local brewery that has partnered with Oasis Center to provide support for their programs (including the Bike Workshop, which is located in the basement of the Oasis Center). The Workshop gets a nice shout out at the end- watch the video and learn more about Oasis Center and the amazing work they are doing all over Nashville!
In celebration of our mechanic Noble’s wedding to his lovely sweetheart, Jennie!
The lovebirds recently won what is hands down the raddest wedding we’ve heard of- a White Castle Wedding. If you don’t know, Google that now and you will learn about the world of White Castle nuptials. Sunday is the big day, and we have decided to close the shop for the day so that we can all celebrate with our friend and co-worker!
So, if you have a flat, you can find all of our staff at White Castle, eating burgers all day long and smoking cigars with Noble! We will reopen Tuesday at 11am!
Come by and pick up the new issue of Urban Velo- ***they’re free***- and make sure to read the cover story, written by none other than Nashville’s favorite female fixed rider, Devan Mickell.
DANG it is cold. Time to settle down by the fire with some eggnog. But first, you gotta get that Christmas shopping under wraps!
If you don’t know what to get your dearly beloved this year, may I suggest a gift certificate? We offer gift certificates in any amount, and they can be used towards any purchase at Halcyon. So, whether it is a bicycle, accessories, parts, or a tune up that your loved one would like, we got you covered.
We have been remodeling the shop a bit, you may have noticed! Come check out what we have cookin’ and tell Andrew what a lovely job he has done…
Two years ago today, we opened our doors for the first time. Since then, we have been honored to provide our dear city with the best products and service possible. We have met amazing people, made countless memories, and most importantly, have seen many incredible bicycles. Overall, it has been a dream come true!
So, today we are celebrating two years of fun and living the dream. Here’s to 100 more years to come!
